Tawonga Tidbit
Earlier today, with tunes playing and the sun shining, campers had a blast at the Carmel pool party! G-1 was most excited about jumping into the deep end, handstand competitions and pool jazzercise while B-1 and B-2 couldn’t wait to hit the neighboring B-Ball court after swimming. All of the campers agreed they love warming up on the hot pool deck after jumping into the water.
“It’s really fun when an entire Unit gets to bond as a group beyond the bunk,” said Carmel Unit Head, Tallulah. “It’s so special for these kids to have such a beautiful, large community.”
Meanwhile, other activity highlights around Camp today included nature body painting, turning trash to treasure, tie dying and tikkuning (repairing) Freedom Forest – a favorite Tawonga campfire area!
Eilat campers also returned from their overnight trips! B-6 campers were excited to share that they saw (from a safe distance) two bear cubs and a mama bear! Among the huge, awesome Sequoia trees, campers said they “felt like ants.”
P.S. In order to give the campers as many staff resources as possible during this time, Tawonga’s blog will only be posting once per day until further notice.
