NEW Randomized Registration Process

Click HERE for our 2023 Registration FAQs. In an effort to provide transparency and equity in our registration process, and to remove the stressful “race to click,” Tawonga is implementing a 24-hour stress-free registration window with a randomized registration mechanism. Registrations will be accepted without being processed during the first 24 hours of each registration tier; regardless of the time it is received, it will be considered as a 1st day of registration application. . .

On the first day of each registration tier, registrations will be accepted without being processed during the first 24 hours of that tier; whether completed at 9am or 9pm, they will be considered as a 1st day of registration application.

Registrations received within the first 24 hours (9am Tuesday to 9am Wednesday) will be processed in randomized order with the goal of giving campers one of their top choices while creating a more equitable process. Siblings will be kept in programs together (where noted as first choice) as much as possible. If the number of registrations received in the first 24 hours for any given program exceeds the program capacity, some campers will be placed on a waitlist using our randomized process . Following the first day of registration 24 hour window within each tier, registrations will be processed on a first come, first served basis.

Confirmation emails will be sent 48 hours after the close of each registration tier’s 24-hour window. Campers who are hoping to return to Camp with friends from the previous summer who did not all receive spots in the same program can opt to change programs in order to be together, as long as space is available.

A Note on Waitlists

Tawonga does not advertise our program capacities and waitlists because they are fluid and constantly changing. If you register for a program and get on the waitlist, there is often movement on the list and a chance that you will get into the program. If you are added to the waitlist for a particular program, you are welcome to call to find out your placement. If a space does become available, we will contact you and will give you 24 hours to decide whether you’d still like the space. People are let off waitlists on a strictly first-come, first-served basis. Whether or not a family applied for financial assistance does not impact a family’s ability to get off a waitlist. Being on a waitlist also makes you eligible for an earlier registration date in the future. If you have questions about enrollment in a particular program, please call our office to discuss.

COVID-19, Health & Safety

In order to prioritize the health and safety of our campers, staff, and entire Tawonga community, we will be making some changes to our 2023 programs and Camp practices. Expect 2023 FAQs shortly.
