Rachael Kirk-Cortez spent many summers at Tawonga while growing up in the Bay Area both as a camper and staff member. She remained connected to the organization after staff, joining the inaugural cohort of the Alumni Board and later serving as co-chair. Rachael is a marketing consultant specializing in integrated marketing and messaging strategy, with a focus on advising sustainability-minded companies on how to build long-term connections and traction with consumers and stakeholders. She holds a BA in Social Welfare from UC Berkeley and a MS in Agriculture, Food and the Environment from the Tufts Friedman School. She lives in Oakland with her husband and two young children who have all enjoyed participating in Down the Mountain programming and are very excited to soon be old enough to experience the joy of Tawonga for themselves.
