In this dynamic webinar series, we will explore strengths-based leadership practices and current social justice topics. Sessions will include collaborative learning, text studies, community arts activities, and group discussions. Together we will look for ways to apply what we’ve learned into our daily lives and encourage each other to continue the learning beyond the time we share together. In each session, you’ll develop skills, connect with other teens and feel the Tawonga magic!
Session 1 and 2 will begin with the basics of strengths-based leadership and an introduction to the history of social justice. Teens are excellent role models for our younger generations and especially effective when empowered with effective leadership strategies.
Building from this foundation, sessions 3 and 4 will explore the applications of our leadership and mentoring practices within current social justice movements. Together we will expand our understanding of the history and context of social justice, our role, and the use of community arts practices to process and apply our learning.
All sessions will be facilitated by Sean Keelan, Assistant Director of Teen Programs, and a rock star team of Teen Staff.
For each session please find a comfortable place to work, a stable internet connection, some paper, and your favorite writing utensils.
Registered participants will meet online from 3-5pm every Wednesday in July.
Registration will be open until 3:00pm July 7.
