Designed for families with children in rising 2nd-6th grade, Prospective Families Weekend is a two-night introduction to Camp for families with a first-time camper, or who are considering their first summer at Tawonga.

All are welcome, programming is geared toward families with children in rising 2nd-6th grades for new and prospective campers.


Program Overview
Spend time together, participate in a Havarah (small group), make new friends and strengthen the bonds that make the Tawonga community so special. Learn more about what the Tawonga community, traditions and mission is like in real-time at Camp. Meet seasoned Tawonga directors and staff, spend time together as a family and participate in fun activities that bring you closer to your family and new friends.
Expand your Jewish learning and deepen your understanding of Jewish traditions and culture in a relaxed, inclusive and inspiring environment. Celebrate in the spirit of togetherness, with the songs, prayers and warmth of Shabbat. Get a “taste of camp” for you and your camper – immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Sierras, and take part in a wide range of Camp activities for kids and parents alike.
Please note this retreat is an opportunity to escape from screens and the hustle and bustle of regular life. This retreat is designed for your family to strengthen bonds and make new friends as a family. Families should expect to spend their days together; this unique program will offer family rotations, floats and Jewish learning. Childcare will be offered from 8:30pm-10:30pm for adults to enjoy refreshments and activities and games in the dining hall.

$230 for children under 2
