Matisyahu is a world-renowned Jewish American reggae singer, alternate rock musician, and beatboxer. In 2004, when Matisyahu released his debut album, Shake Off the Dust…Arise, his musical persona seemed a novelty to some. Here was a Hasidic Jew performing raps over reggae beats and stage diving into crowds. But his diverse style soon garnered Grammy nominations, gold record certifications, and a broad audience. Since 2004, he has released five studio albums as well as two live albums, two remix CDs and two DVDs featuring live concerts.
