A Note on Alternative Foods
🥦 Tasty vegetarian and vegan options are available for every meal, in addition to a “middle table” with alternative meal options to meet every camper’s needs.
🥣 During breakfast, the middle table offers a wide selection of cold cereal and milk (dairy-free options too), in addition to hot cereal with toppings. Each lunch and dinner, campers can choose from options at the middle table, like sun-butter and jelly sandwiches, tuna sandwiches and hummus.
🏕 Backpacking Trips and Challenge Course
For the first week of Session A, all campers are in Camp. Backpacking trips and visits to the Challenge Course will start tomorrow!
Tomorrow
The units of Nitzanim (B-Aleph, B-Bet, G-Aleph, G-Bet) and Chalutzim (B9, B10, G9, G10) depart to go backpacking.
Bunks B-3 and B-4 will try their hand at the challenge course!

On an especially hot day like today, counselors always make sure that campers stay hydrated, wear sunscreen and cool off in the pool or the beautiful Tuolumne river.

Campers enjoyed a beautiful morning Celebrating Shabbat services in our outdoor amphitheater, Makom Shalom. After, they were able to explore Shabbat Floats where they could choose from various activities around camp to partake in before lunch. Todays Aliyah called up campers who are celebrating Shabbat at Camp Tawonga for the very first time. An Aliyah is the calling of a member of a Jewish congregation to the bimah for a segment of Torah reading. Look at all these new campers!
