Tawonga Tidbit
We continue to be blown away by the support and care our community has shown in the wake of the tragic loss of beloved Tawongan Eli Kane, who worked as a counselor this summer.
From the seasoned staff alumni who are stepping in at Camp to support while our staff take care of themselves, to the volunteers who made sure every Session B family got a personal phone call, to all of your beautiful messages – we are feeling the power of our community.
Session B campers, including our TLI teens, continue to bring so much light to Tawonga. Their joyful energy helps to balance the grief that many of our staff are feeling – and facilitate the healing process.
We are finding the balance between holding the sadness of this time while continuing to offer the Tawonga magic to the children. We hope the photos below give a peek into that magic.
Today’s Kitchen Menu
Breakfast
Scrambled eggs, biscuits and bananas
Lunch
BBQ chicken sandwiches with coleslaw, pickles and potato chips
Fruit: Peaches and nectarines

A Note on Alternative Foods
Tasty vegetarian and vegan options are available for every meal, in addition to a “middle table” with alternative meal options to meet every camper’s needs.
During breakfast, the middle table offers a wide selection of cold cereal and milk (dairy-free options too), in addition to hot cereal with toppings. Each lunch and dinner, campers can choose from options at the middle table, like sun-butter and jelly sandwiches, tuna sandwiches and hummus.
