Babies, Grandparents, and Alumni Weekending Together
September 02, 2015
With 56 families up at August Family Camp last weekend, including grandparents, 14 babies, and an amazing group of parents and staff, this was a multi-generational Tawonga weekend for the books! Many of these families were experiencing camp for the first time, immersing themselves in the Tawonga magic for a few fun-filled and inspiring days. Alumni returning with their families were excited to pass the torch on to their children and to share fond memories of their camper days.
Highlights included a kid-friendly Kabbalat Shabbat service led by Rabbi James Green of the Silicon Valley JCC on Friday night, a ridiculously fun talent show and dance party Saturday night, beautiful property hikes led by Ken Kramarz, tie-dying and jewelry making at A&C, and all-around quality family time in nature. One mom reflected on Saturday that she couldn’t remember the last time she was able to have this depth of quality time with her kids: “Everything is taken care of, and it allows me to just be with my family and enjoy each other.” That’s what we’re here for!
Enjoy photos below from the weekend, and we can’t wait to welcome a whole new crop of families this coming weekend for Summertime Family Camp!
