Closing Out Session III

All our bags are packed and we’re ready to go!

Campers said some hard goodbyes to friends and staff after three long weeks at Tawonga. The power of Session III is felt in these last few days as campers prepare to say goodbye to what feels like a “second home” to many of them.

Last night, all of Camp closed out the session with a banquet dinner and closing campfire out by the Stage. Staff and campers performed hilarious skits that uplifted our spirits as we all tried to avoid the inevitable goodbyes that would have to be said the following morning.

After breakfast, everyone gathered at the Stage for a few final songs that would be the song track to their last moments of Session III. Staff formed a Tunnel of Love – their familiar faces comforted the campers as they headed out to the parked buses. The tears shared and pictured below represent the strong bond felt amongst all of Camp this session.

To quote a line from the infamous Winnie the Pooh,

How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard

We will sincerely miss these incredible, thoughtful campers who have brought an indescribable energy to Tawonga. We hope to see them all back at Camp next summer for yet another Session III!

Enjoy photos from today’s final farewell in addition to images taken at the Carnival photo booth!

P.S. Next week, you will receive an email with a link to high resolution photos from the blog this session. These will be available to download at no cost.
