Summer blog kick-off!

It’s our favorite time of year at Camp Tawonga – summer! During the height of our program season – when we are running our Summer Sessions, Teen Leadership In-Training Programs, and Teen Travel Quests – we will be providing more frequent updates for you right here on this blog. Stay tuned for posts on our daily activities, photos of camp happenings, and stories spanning our broad at-camp community.

For the parents and loved ones of campers who are tuning in, we understand that sending your child to sleep-away camp can be as much of a milestone for your child as it is for you. This summer, our sincere hope is that reading the blog will provide a more in depth window into the magical Tawonga experience, as well as a connection to your children while they’re at their home away from home. At the same time, we hope to capture authentic Tawonga days while still honoring the unplugged, immersive camper experience, informed by our Screen-Free Policy (which you can learn even more about here). Accordingly, we cannot guarantee that your child will be featured on our blog, but we will strive to present a holistic and diverse glimpse into camp.

Many blog posts will be linked to our social media channels. To stay current with us, we encourage you to “like” us on Facebook and follow @Tawonga on Twitter if you have not yet done so. We also recommend bookmarking our blog for easy access.

While we do include photos of campers on the blog and on social media, we are sensitive to protecting their privacy, and only include their first names and last initials. Please send your questions and any feedback about the blog to info@tawonga.org — we would love to hear from you.

Enjoy a few shots from our Staff Shabbat below, and get ready to see some smiling Taste of Camp campers who arrive tomorrowShavua tov!
