Homemade banana bread with hardboiled eggs and orange slices

Vegan chili with a choice of shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream and green onions, served with a side of freshly baked cornbread

Fruit: Grapes

Chicken fajita wraps with sautéed onions and bell peppers

Delicious vegetarian and vegan options are available for every meal, in addition to a “middle table” with alternative meal options to meet every camper’s needs.

During breakfast, the middle table offers a wide selection of cold cereal and milk (dairy-free options available as well), in addition to hot cereal with a variety of toppings. Each lunch and dinner, campers can also choose from options at the middle table, including sun-butter and jelly sandwiches, tuna sandwiches and hummus. A salad bar with ample fixings is also available to campers and staff for every meal to either supplement or replace the options on the menu that day.

Where the Campers Are

The Unit of Galil (G-3, G-4, B-3, B-4) as well as G-1, G-2A, and G-2B are going on day hikes today. All other bunks are in camp enjoying another fun-filled day.

The unit of Eilat (G-5, G-6A, G-6B, B-5, B-6) and the bunk of B-2 will be going on their day hikes tomorrow.

What’s so special about today? We’re celebrating the birthdays of Jack W. and Josie K., two of our amazing Session I campers!

Here’s what celebrating a birthday at Camp Tawonga looks like. (Hint: It’s pretty special.)

How’s the Weather? ☀️

Sunny with a high of 95, low of 61.

During the hottest time of the day, campers relax in the shade of their cabins during Rest Hour. Additionally, counselors always make sure that campers stay hydrated, wear sunscreen and cool off in the pool or the beautiful Tuolomne river, which are all especially important during hot days like today. In case you missed it, check out this post on what a “typical day” at Camp Tawonga looks like.
