Alternative Option: Vegan/ Gluten-Free french toast

Fruit: Apples

On the last day of each session, we celebrate our incredible time together with a Thanksgiving-inspired feast of roast turkey, mashed potatoes & gravy, cranberry sauce and broccoli!

Delicious vegetarian and vegan options are available for every meal, in addition to a “middle table” with alternative meal options to meet every camper’s needs.

During breakfast, the middle table offers a wide selection of cold cereal and milk (dairy-free options available as well), in addition to hot cereal with a variety of toppings. Each lunch and dinner, campers can also choose from options at the middle table, including sun-butter and jelly sandwiches, tuna sandwiches and hummus. A salad bar with ample fixings is also available to campers and staff for every meal to either supplement or replace the options on the menu that day.

Where the Campers Are

The unit of Eilat (G-5, G-6A, G-6B, B-5, B-6) and the bunk of B-2 are out on day hikes today.

All campers will be in camp tomorrow as we prepare to board the buses and head home. We’re going to miss them so much!

What’s so special about tomorrow? Before we load the buses to go home, we will be celebrating the birthdays of Ryo I. and Micah P. to close out an amazing Taste of Camp.

Here’s what celebrating a birthday at Camp Tawonga looks like. (Hint: It’s pretty special.)

How’s the Weather? ☀️

Sunny with a high of 92, low of 59. Closing the session with another beautiful day!

During the hottest time of the day, campers relax in the shade of their cabins during Rest Hour. In case you missed it, check out this post on what a “typical day” at Camp Tawonga looks like.

Did You Know …

Last year, we served more people than ever before, expanding the reach of our at-Camp programs, exploring deeper ways to engage teens and graduating our first-ever class of Tawonga Bar & Bat Mitzvah students! We take pride in the community we have created together, so check out our 2018 Impact Report here to learn more about the important milestones our community reached last year.

The Tawonga Tidbit brings you a daily dose of Camp with our kitchen menu, Camp birthdays and more. We hope this series brings you a bit closer to Tawonga!
