Where the Campers Are

Today

Everyone is in Camp today learning about all of the fun activities we offer, bonding and getting adjusted to life at Camp.

Tomorrow

The unit of Chalutzim (G-9, G-10A, G-10B, B-9, B-10) will be leaving on their backpacking trips tomorrow to explore the beautiful wilderness that surrounds Camp!

Birthdays

What’s so special about today? We’re celebrating the birthday of one of our talented and amazing unit heads– Margot Y.!

Here’s what celebrating a birthday at Camp Tawonga looks like. (Hint: It’s pretty special.)

How’s the Weather?

Sunny with a high of 91 and a low of 58

During the hottest time of the day, campers relax in the shade of their cabins during Rest Hour. Additionally, counselors always make sure that campers stay hydrated, wear sunscreen and cool off in the pool or the beautiful Tuolomne river, which are all especially important during hot days like today. In case you missed it, check out this post on what a “typical day” at Camp Tawonga looks like.

Did You Know …

Tawonga’s four-part mission guides everything that we do together at Camp. Check out this video for a look at how we create a cooperative community in which campers develop positive connections with nature, Judaism, each other and themselves.
