During breakfast, the middle table offers a wide selection of cold cereal and milk (dairy-free options available as well), in addition to hot cereal with a variety of toppings. Each lunch and dinner, campers can also choose from options at the middle table, including sun-butter and jelly sandwiches, tuna sandwiches and hummus. A salad bar with ample fixings is also available to campers and staff for every meal to either supplement or replace the options on the menu that day.

Where the Campers Are

Today

G-1, G-2A and G-2B left on their backpacking trips today, while the unit of Chalutzim (G-9, G-10A, G-10B, B-9 and B-10) returned to Camp this afternoon full of stories and covered in dirt from their night in the backcountry! The bunks of G-7 and G-8 are on the Challenge Course today, building trust and being “Edelrid” (which means super super duper safe!).

Tomorrow

The unit of Galil leaves to go backpacking!

Birthdays

Today we are celebrating the birthdays of two super special members of our Camp T community! Happy birthday to camper Shoshana B and Jack S, one of our invaluable maintenance staff!

Here’s what celebrating a birthday at Camp Tawonga looks like. (Hint: It’s pretty special.)

How’s the Weather? ☀️

Sunny and mild with a high of 81, low of 51

During the hottest time of the day, campers relax in the shade of their cabins during Rest Hour. In case you missed it, check out this post on what a “typical day” at Camp Tawonga looks like.

Did You Know …

Last year, we served more people than ever before, expanding the reach of our at-Camp programs, exploring deeper ways to engage teens and graduating our first-ever class of Tawonga Bar & Bat Mitzvah students! We take pride in the community we have created together, so check out our 2018 Impact Report here to learn more about the important milestones our community reached last year.

The Tawonga Tidbit brings you a daily dose of Camp with our kitchen menu, Camp birthdays and more. We hope this series brings you a bit closer to Tawonga!
