Tawonga Tidbit

Today’s Kitchen Menu

Breakfast

French toast casserole with syrup and berry compote

Lunch

Corndogs, chicken nuggets and veggies

Fruit: Apples

Dinner

Banquet!! At Camp Tawonga, we close each session with a traditional Thanksgiving feast: roast turkey, mashed potatoes, mushroom gravy, cranberry sauce, green beans and stuffing.

Dessert: Pumpkin Pie

Delicious vegetarian and vegan options are available for every meal, in addition to a “middle table” with alternative meal options to meet every camper’s needs.

During breakfast, the middle table offers a wide selection of cold cereal and milk (dairy-free options available as well), in addition to hot cereal with a variety of toppings. Each lunch and dinner, campers can also choose from options at the middle table, including sun-butter and jelly sandwiches, tuna sandwiches and hummus. A salad bar with ample fixings is also available to campers and staff for every meal to either supplement or replace the options on the menu that day.

Where the Campers Are

Today

Everyone is in Camp today celebrating the Fourth and the last full day of the session.

Tomorrow

Campers boards the busses and head home. We miss them already!!

Birthdays

No birthdays today (besides America’s), however tomorrow is a super special day as we are celebrating the birthdays of  Gabriel G. and Matthew G., two of our amazing Session II campers. We will celebrate together tomorrow morning before we say goodbye to Session II!

Here’s what celebrating a birthday at Camp Tawonga looks like. (Hint: It’s pretty special.)

How’s the Weather? ☀️

Sunny with a high of 86 and a low of 56. Another beautiful day to close out Session II!

During the hottest time of the day, campers relax in the shade of their cabins during Rest Hour. In case you missed it, check out this post on what a “typical day” at Camp Tawonga looks like.

Did You Know …

One of the best things about being at Camp Tawonga is getting to celebrate Shabbat in such a vibrant, inclusive community. Check out this J article from a few seasons to read about what makes Shabbat at Camp Tawonga such an enriching, holy experience.
