Tawonga Tidbit

Today’s Kitchen Menu

Breakfast

Shabbat morning means a sleep-in breakfast with bagels and all the fixings, plus special Shabbat cereal.

Lunch

Leftovers!!! Eating leftovers from the week’s meals helps minimize food waste while giving campers a huge variety of food from which to choose.

Fruit: Apples

Dinner

Unit BBQ’s with hamburgers, hot dogs and barbecue chicken with a variety of toppings. Served with green salad, potato chips and pasta salad.

Dessert: Watermelon and Rice Krispie treats

Delicious vegetarian and vegan options are available for every meal, in addition to a “middle table” with alternative meal options to meet every camper’s needs.

During breakfast, the middle table offers a wide selection of cold cereal and milk (dairy-free options available as well), in addition to hot cereal with a variety of toppings. Each lunch and dinner, campers can also choose from options at the middle table, including sun-butter and jelly sandwiches, tuna sandwiches and hummus. A salad bar with ample fixings is also available to campers and staff for every meal to either supplement or replace the options on the menu that day.

Where the Campers Are

Today

Everyone is in Camp today to relax, enjoy Shabbat and spend some quality time with bunkmates and friends all over Camp.

Tomorrow

Everyone will be in Camp again enjoying everything that Camp has to offer.

Birthdays

Happy birthday to Anna F. and Ezra T-G., two of our amazing session III campers who will be celebrating their special days tonight in a very special way!

Here’s what celebrating a birthday at Camp Tawonga looks like. (Hint: It’s pretty special.)

How’s the Weather? ☀️

Sunny with a high of 89, low of 61 today

During the hottest time of the day, campers relax in the shade of their cabins during Rest Hour. In case you missed it, check out this post on what a “typical day” at Camp Tawonga looks like.

Did You Know …

Last year, we were able to award over $600,000 in Camperships to 469 families. The Tawonga Campership Fund helps bridge the gap and makes Camp accessible to families who couldn’t otherwise afford to send their children to Camp. Check out this video of former Session III camper Aidan talking about the impact that Tawonga has made on his life.
