Delicious vegetarian and vegan options are available for every meal, in addition to a “middle table” with alternative meal options to meet every camper’s needs.

During breakfast, the middle table offers a wide selection of cold cereal and milk (dairy-free options available as well), in addition to hot cereal with a variety of toppings. Each lunch and dinner, campers can also choose from options at the middle table, including sun-butter and jelly sandwiches, tuna sandwiches and hummus. A salad bar with ample fixings is also available to campers and staff for every meal to either supplement or replace the options on the menu that day.

Where the Campers Are

Today

Everyone is in Camp today gearing up for the last week of the session!

Tomorrow

Campers from the unit of Eilat (B-5, B-6, G-5, G-6A and G-6B) will be on their elective day hike tomorrow, while Haifa (B-7, B-8A, B-8B, G-7 and G-8) leaves for their backpacking trips.

Birthdays

What’s so special about today? We’re celebrating the birthday of Daniel K. one of our amazing and dedicated counselors this summer!

Here’s what celebrating a birthday at Camp Tawonga looks like. (Hint: It’s pretty special.)

How’s the Weather? ☀️

Sunny with a high of 94, low of 63 today

During the hottest time of the day, campers relax in the shade of their cabins during Rest Hour. Additionally, counselors always make sure that campers stay hydrated, wear sunscreen and cool off in the pool or the beautiful Tuolomne river, which are all especially important during hot days like today. In case you missed it, check out this post on what a “typical day” at Camp Tawonga looks like.

Did You Know …

We offer six Family Camp weekends each year to allow parents to relax and enjoy Camp while kids are able to have fun and experience all that is Tawonga! We use a simple recipe of accessibility, community building and inclusion in order to make Family Camps a special experience for families to unplug together in nature and create memories and connections that last a lifetime. Check out this post from Jamie Simon, our Executive Director, to learn more about the secret sauce that makes Family Camp so special.
