Where the Campers Are

Today

The unit of Chalutzim (B-9, B-10A, B-10B, G-9 and G-10) left for their backpacking trips today and are sleeping under the stars tonight in the beautiful Yosemite wilderness! The bunks of G-1, G-2A and G-2B were on the Challenge Course today working together and strengthening the bonds within their bunk. Lastly, campers in the unit of Haifa went on the Bagel run today to test their limits while enjoying some of the most spectacular views Yosemite has to offer!

Tomorrow

B-7 and B-8 are on the Challenge Course tomorrow while the unit of Eilat goes on their elective day hike.

Birthdays

What is so special about today? We are wishing a very happy birthday to Katie A. and Sam C. two of our dedicated staff members at Camp this summer!

Here’s what celebrating a birthday at Camp Tawonga looks like. (Hint: It’s pretty special.)

How’s the Weather? ☀️

Sunny with a high of 97, low of 63 today – another scorcher out there today, folks!

During the hottest time of the day, campers relax in the shade of their cabins during Rest Hour. Additionally, counselors always make sure that campers stay hydrated, wear sunscreen and cool off in the pool or the beautiful Tuolomne river, which are all especially important during hot days like today. In case you missed it, check out this post on what a “typical day” at Camp Tawonga looks like.

Did You Know …

At Camp Tawonga, we strive to be a community of mensches. Now, you may be asking, “What does that even mean?” Luckily, this video shot at Tawonga a few years back will answer that question, and show that being a mensch can take on many different forms.
