Where the Campers Are

Today

The unit of Chalutzim (B-9, B-10A, B-10B, G-9 and G-10) returned from backpacking today covered in dirt but filled with stories and memories from their two nights in the backcountry. B-5 and B-6 were on the Challenge Course today building each other up and expanding their comfort zones. Lastly, the bunks of G-1, G-2A and G-2B all left to go backpacking today.

Tomorrow

The unit of Galil leaves to go backpacking, G-1, G-2A and G-2B return from their trips, and G-5, G-6 and AG-6 get the opportunity to go on the Challenge Course!

Birthdays

No birthdays to celebrate today, but did you know that we are celebrating our 94th birthday this year? Be on the lookout for more information about our 95th anniversary gala taking place next year!

Here’s what celebrating a birthday at Camp Tawonga looks like. (Hint: It’s pretty special.)

How’s the Weather? ☀️

Sunny with a high of 92, low of 62 today

During the hottest time of the day, campers relax in the shade of their cabins during Rest Hour. Additionally, counselors always make sure that campers stay hydrated, wear sunscreen and cool off in the pool or the beautiful Tuolomne river, which are all especially important during hot days like today. In case you missed it, check out this post on what a “typical day” at Camp Tawonga looks like.

Did You Know …

We launched our Camp Tawonga Young Alumni Board (YAB) in 2016 to create an opportunity for Tawonga alumni in their mid-twenties to mid-thirties to engage with and give back to Camp. Our YAB members help advise us on numerous issues, plan alumni events, liaise with our Board of Directors and gain leadership experience. Check out this page to learn more about our members!
