Tawonga Bar & Bat Mitzvah Program launches in fall 2016 for 5th, 6th and 7th graders.
Info Session Details
During this session geared toward children, attendees will have the opportunity to meet other families considering the program, take part in engaging activities with Tawonga staff and get a taste of this two-year program. Parents are welcome to join as well, or return at 6p.m. when the session is over.
Snacks will be provided for kids.
Bar & Bat Mitzvah Program Overview
Tawonga’s Bar & Bat Mitzvah program a two-year experience launching in fall 2016, providing youth the opportunity to engage in this important rite of passage in an individualized, creative program.
By incorporating nature, community building, social justice and experiential Jewish learning, we ensure this milestone is individualized and accessible for each and every child. This program includes program elements like weekend sleepover retreats for students, family Shabbats dinners, family hikes, a volunteer mitzvah project, monthly classes and mentorship from trained members of the Tawonga community.
Enrollment Information
At this time we now have limited spots remaining in our San Francisco and South Peninsula cohorts. Our East Bay cohort is currently full, though we advise interested East Bay families to join this cohort’s waitlist in case of cancellations.
