Farewell, Session II!
Our Session II campers departed this morning with smiles, hugs farewell and promises to see each other next year. After breakfast and a spirited song session, each unit gathered in different places around Camp to share their cabin’s memory sheets and reflect on the incredible session they just experienced. Then, all of Camp gathered for the closing program at The Stage. Arm in arm, Campers sang more songs like “Leaving on a Jet Bus,” “Wonderwall” and “Circle Game” – songs that embody the bittersweet emotions we feel when we have to leave a place filled with so much friendship, fun, unforgettable memories and experiences.
Kids were greeted by staff as they walked through the Tunnel of Love to the buses. Song leaders led all of Camp in “Leaving on a Jet Bus,” the song that signals the closure of an amazing session.
Counselors reassured their campers,
This isn’t the end. There’s always next summer!
As we like to say,
It’s not the place, it’s the people that make Camp Tawonga so special.
We hope the Session II campers bring that same feeling of love, friendship, enthusiasm for nature and Judaism back home with them and stay in touch with their new friends all year.
See you next summer!
