The Love of Song Session

An all-time favorite activity at Tawonga comes after each breakfast and dinner: Song Session! Led by our talented songleaders and guided by the famous Camp Tawonga song book, Song Session is an enthusiastic, energetic and expressive boost for everyone involved.

During this time, the Dining Hall fills with the joyful voices and upbeat dancing of campers and staff, grooving to classic summer camp favorites like “Brown Eyed Girl” as well as Hebrew tunes like “Elohai.” And, since dancing isn’t necessarily everyone’s thing, campers are welcome to sit with their friends and follow along in the song book.

Today, we switched it up by gathering outside at the stage for Song Session, which our Session II campers loved.

In case you missed last week’s Staff Spotlight on songleader Jordan Hurwitz, check it out here. You can also read about our head songleader, Maya Abramson here.

P.S. One of the ways to take Tawonga home is through music: Our songbook, latest C.D., “Home” and streaming Tawonga tunes helps keep the Camp spirit going long after the session has ended.

Below are some shots from this morning’s Song Session, and we will post more later this evening from the day’s activities:
