Notes From The Road: Sierra Slam Quest
During Session II, 11 Questers in grades seven and eight went on an amazing adventure through the Northern California wilderness. Questers started off in the Stanislaus Forest doing day hikes, then ventured over to Loon Lake in the South Lake Tahoe National Forest to do a backpacking trip. On their backpacking trip, Questers got to hang out on the beach on Lake Tahoe. After backpacking, Questers went to the American River to go whitewater rafting.
Team-Bonding
The Questers got much closer on their epic backpacking trip at Loon Lake. Later, they pirated each other’s rafts during their whitewater rafting trip on the American River. Paired with a surprise snowball fight on Sonora Pass, the Questers bonded well.
Quest Leader Inspiration
What Quest Leader Talia Brecher’s favorite part of her job is:
“Watching the growth of campers as they learned life skills while having the time of their lives away from their normal day to day life.”
