Ways to Give
You can support Camp Tawonga in various ways
A child’s experience with Tawonga could be the only Jewish experience they receive all year. We allocate over $600,000 in financial assistance each year, so that no child is denied an opportunity to experience the magic of Tawonga. With a gift to our Campership Fund, you are investing in the future of our Jewish community and enhancing the life of a deserving child. Did you know that we awarded scholarships to 649 campers last year? Your support makes all the difference.
Tawonga Jewish Community Corporation is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit, tax exempt agency. Tax ID #94-3227261
Annual Campaign - General Fund
Your gift to the Annual Campaign helps Tawonga meet our three ongoing needs: providing financial assistance to hundreds of children and families with economic constraints, maintaining excellent programming and staffing and ensuring that capital improvements are made to buildings and grounds – providing a safe, comfortable and beautiful haven for children and families.
A child’s experience at Camp Tawonga could be the only Jewish experience they receive all year. We allocate over $500,000 in financial aid each summer, so that no child is denied an opportunity to come to Camp. With a gift to our Campership Fund, you are investing in the future of our Jewish community and enhancing the life of a deserving child. Did you know that we served 1,370 families this past year, and over a quarter of them were on scholarship? Your support makes all the difference.
Please call us to learn more about specific capital projects regarding updating our facility on the Tuolumne River and how your donation can make a significant impact.
You can choose to direct your gift to support any of Tawonga’s programs. Our Wilderness program brings more children to the Yosemite backcountry than any other. Our Keshet LGBTQ Family Weekend Camp is the first in the nation to specifically serve Jewish LGBTQ families. Please call us to discuss these and other opportunities to support the things you really care about.
An endowment gift supports programs and services long into the future. You choose what aspect of Camp you would like to endow, such as camperships, capital, programs, or a staff position, and you choose in whose name it will be remembered. Only the interest generated by the fund will be spent each year, and only for the purpose you specify. Start your own Endowment Fund with a minimum gift of $50,000. Or make a tribute gift in honor or in memory of someone, and put it toward an existing endowment fund.
Named Endowed Camperships
To achieve our goal of making Camp accessible to everyone, regardless of ability to pay, it is essential that we provide increased Campership Funds during these difficult economic times and into the future. Endowed Campership Funds will provide this resource in perpetuity, similar to an endowed academic scholarship.
Named Endowed Staff Positions
We have established twenty “Endowed Staff Positions for Summer Camp Programs.” We will hold the principal of these gifts in a restricted endowment fund forever, using only the interest each year to pay for the indicated summer staff positions.
Naming opportunities include the following staff positions:
Make your gift in memory of a loved one or in honor of someone’s special occasion— like a birthday, B’nai Mitzvah, wedding, birth, or other celebration. We’ll send a Tawonga Tribute card to the person you are honoring or the family who you are making the gift in memory of, letting them know of your special gift and including your personalized message.
Thousands of employers have matching gift programs and match charitable contributions made by their employees. Donations from employees’ spouses and retirees may also qualify for a match. View this page to find out if your employer has a matching gift program.
