Wildlife at Camp Tawonga

Today Tawonga was delighted to welcome Jenna Sorrell, Director of San Jose Family Camp at Yosemite and trained zoologist to Camp! Sorrell led us in an amazing wildlife presentation on her work rehabilitating wild animals. This is Sorrell’s third year coming to Camp and we are thrilled to have her back.

The goal of the presentation was for campers to get a unique and up-close look at a variety of wild species and to more deeply realize our collective responsibility to respect and share our Earth with animals who play critical roles in our ecosystem.

Sorrell introduced Cornelius the owl, Virginia the opossum and Gucci the alligator to our campers who were all super excited and fascinated to see these incredible animals in person and to hear about their stories.
