A True Taste of Tawonga

It’s hard to believe our Taste of Camp campers are boarding the buses to return home tomorrow – we’re going to miss them! Campers have truly gotten a taste of Tawonga this week, from spending time at A+C (arts and crafts) making painted pinecones and pet rocks, to heading out for a day hike with the wilderness staff and getting “gnarly” with their bunk – a uniquely Tawonga activity where kids get to express themselves in a whole new way (they can tell you more themselves!).

Over the course of this week, we’ve seen immense growth in these campers – many of whom are brand new to Tawonga – and their enthusiasm for exploring new activities. When one of our directors asked a B-6 camper,

On a scale of 1-10, how much fun are you having?

This camper, with a huge smile on his face, yelled at the top of his lungs,

On a scale from 1-10, IT’S 1,000!

We hope that the campers are inspired by their experiences and choose to return to Tawonga for longer sessions, which include overnight backpacking trips, Shabbat celebrations and more.

See photos below from another great day at Tawonga, and later tonight, stay tuned for glimpses from tonight’s closing banquet and festivities!
