Program Overview
Tawonga’s Bar & Bat Mitzvah Program is a two-year experience launching in fall 2016, providing youth the opportunity to engage in this important rite of passage in an individualized, creative program.
By incorporating nature, community building, social justice and experiential Jewish learning, we ensure this milestone is individualized and accessible for each and every child. Beyond the Bimah includes program elements like weekend sleepover retreats for students, family Shabbats dinners, family hikes, a volunteer mitzvah project, monthly classes and mentorship from trained members of the Tawonga community.
