Bar & Bat Mitzvah Program Overview
Tawonga’s Bar & Bat Mitzvah program a two-year experience launching in fall 2016, providing youth the opportunity to engage in this important rite of passage in an individualized, creative program.
By incorporating nature, community building, social justice and experiential Jewish learning, we ensure this milestone is individualized and accessible for each and every child. This program includes program elements like weekend sleepover retreats for students, family Shabbats dinners, family hikes, a volunteer mitzvah project, monthly classes and mentorship from trained members of the Tawonga community.
At this time we now have limited spots remaining in our San Francisco and South Peninsula cohorts. Our East Bay cohort is currently full, though we advise interested East Bay families to join this cohort’s waitlist in case of cancellations.
