First “Taste” of Taste of Camp
Our first official day of Taste of Camp kicked off with more bunk bonding and activities! These campers are full of ruach (spirit) and are taking to Tawonga with flying colors!
After eating a delicious breakfast in our Dining Hall, campers started the day in Cabin Floats, exploring many of the amazing activities Camp has to offer. While campers spend the majority of the session bonding as a bunk – eating, sleeping and doing activities together, Floats is a refreshing change to this structure. During Floats, campers have the choice of what activities to do, as well as with whom to do them. This helps to give campers a sense of freedom and independence to explore during part of their session experience.
Today, bunks participated in soccer matches on the field, learned how to shoot an arrow on the archery range, paddle boated on the lake and played improvisation games with our drama specialist. Campers will have the opportunity to revisit an activity or a place that that they loved throughout the next week.
Stay tuned for photos later this evening to see what the campers are up to! This evening post, our “Tawonga Tidbit,” will share fun facts like the day’s menu, Camp birthdays and more.
