Leave the birds and the bees, please!
Every year during Session III, our Teva Department puts on a camp-wide Earth Day program in the garden. Today, campers could be found giggling among the flowers and vegetables, carving watermelons, making smoothies, staging a light-hearted protest against the gophers in the garden, and dancing along to an old-timey folk performance put on by our Song Leaders, Maya and Myles. We had such a fun time today in our Tawonga garden! Below enjoy photos of Earth Day and other activities throughout the day.

Putting Children First: Inside Tawonga’s Staff Training Week
Halfway through Camp Tawonga’s Staff Training Week, Camp Director Aaron Mandel reflected while sitting by the lake: “I feel like every summer is the best summer at Tawonga. It’s cheesy, but I mean that. We just keep getting better and better every year.”
Over the past week, more than 200 summer staff members gathered for our annual week of trainings to prepare for the 1,300 children and teens who will be joining us this summer for joyful Jewish experiences. We’ve been waiting all year for this!
