Tawonga Tidbit – A Lot of Firsts

We only have a few days left of Session B! Everyone, from seasoned programmers to first time counselors, are coming up with never done before blocks to create a unique and memorable experience for campers.

Programmer, Kayla S., led a “weird block” for G-4 campers. Together, they wrote the wackiest love letters and got to pass them out to staff. At Arts and Crafts, AG-4 campers sculpted clay candle-holders for the next Shabbat. While kids have made ceramic candle holders before, these campers are the first to make them with clay.

Next door at the Farm, campers enjoyed the company of the Tawonga chickens and mama goat X-box and her new babies, Larkspur and Feldspar. A lot of firsts for our campers this session!

In addition to our daily gallery, we’ve included pictures from the Bagel Run hike to Clouds Rest in Yosemite. Photo credit goes to counselor Elad T. for capturing these beautiful moments.

🍳 Today’s Kitchen Menu

🍞 French toast bake with fruit compote, eggs and melon

🌮 Tacos with beans, Spanish rice, cheese and salsa

🍇 Fruit: Grapes

🥕 Meatloaf with roasted veggies and salad

A Note on Alternative Foods
🥑 Tasty vegetarian and vegan options are available for every meal, in addition to a “middle table” with alternative meal options to meet every camper’s needs.

🥣 During breakfast, the middle table offers a wide selection of cold cereal and milk (dairy-free options too), in addition to hot cereal with toppings. Each lunch and dinner, campers can choose from options at the middle table, like sun-butter and jelly sandwiches, tuna sandwiches and hummus.

🏕 Backpacking Trips and Challenge Course

Bunks of Carmel unit (G-1, G-2, B-1 and B-2) are returning to Camp from their car camping trips tonight.

TLI teens are having a blast on the Challenge Course.

All Session B campers have now completed a camping/backpacking trip and a day on the Challenge Course!

During the hottest time of the day, campers relax in the shade of their cabins for Rest Hour. Our counselors also support every camper to reapply sunscreen and refill water bottles throughout the day.
