Slam 2 Itinerary
Backpacking at Chilnualna Falls in Yosemite National Park, exploring Mammoth, touring Mono Lake by canoe, whitewater rafting and adventuring in Lake Tahoe!
Trip Highlight
While we were just a few feet away from our campsite at Chilnualna Falls, the group discussed critter safety and how to properly store food in the backcountry. Right in that moment, two crows flew by with all of our cheese in their beaks! Very funny.
Bonding Moment
The whole crew absolutely crushed it together during rafting – getting that synchronized paddling down and keeping calm through some exciting rapids!
Reflections from Quest Leaders
How do you think Quest impacts kids’ lives?
I think being in nature is incredibly reflective and developmentally useful for children.
Being outside of one’s normal habitat creates a completely new pedagogical setting, and in a way, it is pedagogy itself. Seeing the Questers work together as a group and step up to lead in challenging settings is rewarding and impressive.
