Summer Sessions

With nearly 100 years of experience bringing children into nature to discover the outdoors, their Jewish identity, a warm community and their best selves, no summer is complete without a summer session at Camp Tawonga! Our traditional summer camp sessions are available for campers ranging from entering 2nd through 10th grades and include a wide range of activities in a group-centered environment. Read below for details on each of our summer camp sessions.

Dates

June 8 – 13, 2025

Total Duration

6 days

Entering Grades

2nd – 6th

This is a great introduction to sleep-away camp! Most campers joining A Taste of Camp are new to Tawonga, and many are new to overnight camp. Our counselors are prepared to support campers through this transition.

Campers participate in traditional camp activities with their pod of campers and counselors. Activities include arts and crafts, cooking in the garden, swimming, campfires, boating, archery, s’mores and more. We set the schedule for each bunk to ensure that campers have an opportunity to rotate through our most popular program areas.

Dates

June 15 – July 4, 2025

Total Duration

3 weeks

Entering Grades

5th – 10th

Sessions 2, 2a, 3, 3a and 4 feature all of the classic camp activities, Shabbat celebrations, 1-2 night backpacking trips (or camping trips for the youngest campers), optional day hikes, a day on the adventure challenge course, elective activities and more and are the perfect blend of fun, friendship and independence. These longer sessions maximize safety by minimizing camper population turnover and offer campers a chance to build a deep connection to community, nature and Judaism within a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment.

All-gender cabins are being offered during Session 2 for rising 9th through 10th graders. Click here to learn more.
